Buried Justice
Buried Justice has another name, that of a young Diné woman buried south of Shiprock, not far from where I began the MMIW work began in 2014, though I wasn't aware of it at the time.
This brightness of life and hope for a future in-the-making is powerfully grounded in the desert of the American Southwest. Like other pieces, it is a response to an intercessory prayer. When I stand close to it, I can hear the shifting of sands and the chants of a Night Sing.
What initially appears as the simplicity of two colors morphs into a spiritual depth evoking centuries of prayer and my answer to those prayers. There's nothing but the greatness of love in this piece.
It's 36 x 48" and is $7200. If this is a piece you are interested in, reach out so I can send you images that are uncompressed.
