Walking on Water

Jesus didn't walk on water.

No one ever has.

We are held by her, though; those of us who go where others don't dare, those willing to rock the boat or step out of it entirely.

Steady as she goes, we go. Left, right. When we falter and begin to sink she says, "You of little faith, why do you doubt?" She is: strength, steady, forthright, a balm in the thirst for deep life. Water holds us, even if what we feel under our feet is rough seas. Left, right, 'round the rocks to the ground of the heart.

She is the sea of creation, maker, muse and magic. She holds us strong, steady and true. Walk on, my love. Walk on.

Doubt all you need to, she won't let you drown.
